V Bike Team 3

Team #147

South Island race course selected
Open, South Island5 bikes " "I have too many bikes", said no cyclist ever"

Our team

We are a group of cyclists from VBike, Westhaven Auckland. A leading indoor cycling studio and NZ first. Our team is Brynn Gilbertson, Darryl Solijan, Mark Armstrong, Peter Missingham and Eddie Jack.

We share a common love of being on our bikes. Riding this together will be an opportunity to push and encourage each other whilst utilising all the physical benefits of training in the studio.

Riding the South Island over 7 days, pedaling through the breath taking beauty that New Zealand's landscape has to offer and being able to share it with athletes and friends makes it an exciting prospect.

Along with riding with mates and enjoying the scenery we also are lucky enough to be able to give back to the community and this is where you come in. We have chosen to support the Akina bikes in schools. This is a charity that supports the regular riding of bikes by school kids, something a lot of us took for granted in our school years.

As passionate cyclists we believe that every kid should grow up being able to ride and gain the confidence to do so. The importance of our kiwi kids health is becoming more and more important and exercise is such an important aspect of this.

As our fearless V Bike Tour NZ Leader Jianni Koutsos tells us, movement is the key to life. Bikes in schools gives kids the opportunity to build a love of cycling as well as it being an alternative mode of transport as our country continues to grow and carbon foot print increases.
From now until the Tour of NZ 2017 we will be fundraising for our charity, using both our skills on and off the bike to help raise as many funds as we can, but we can not do this with out your support too. So please give what you can, as it all adds up and means so much to the kids that get to experience what it is like to have their own bike and taught the skills to ride it.
