Downer South Island

Team #268

South Island race course selected
Open, South Island5 bikes "We Just Want to Finish in One Piece - Without a St John's Ambulance Ride"

Our team

The Downer South Island team is riding for St John, and ultimately, for all of us.

In our industry, we have a very real risk of injury on site and should the worst happen, our very first call is to the heroes at St John. In turn, should you face a medical emergency at home, in your own place of work, even while you’re out and about on your bike, St John will be your first call too.

St John is at the frontline of medical response, providing ambulance services throughout New Zealand, treating and transporting approximately 400,000 people every year. In addition they provide first aid training from basic to advanced levels, assist in the community through hospital friends, pet outreach therapy and much more, AND provide youth development programmes. They even provide medics for events of every size and description across the country. And they do all of this without full government funding.

We’re riding the Tour of New Zealand this year in an effort to support the amazing work St John does for each and every New Zealander in need of emergency medical treatment and the impressive array of community outreach programmes. Show your support for our ride and for St John by clicking the “donate” button and give a little something back to the team that have been looking after New Zealanders since 1885. Make a lifesaving difference to Kiwi’s facing medical emergencies. St John – Here for Life.

Chosen charity

St John

St John is a charity, and we need your support to help us care for people every day. Has a member of your family ever needed care from a St John paramedic? Maybe you have used your St John first aid kit to treat an injured friend? Right across New Zealand, St John is there for people when they are in need. We provide Ambulance Services to most New Zealanders - including your community. The donations we receive will be used to help New Zealanders - maybe even you or someone you know.

Sponsor this team

Your sponsorship of 'Downer South Island' will support St John. All donations of $5 or more are tax deductible. All sponsors will be able to leave a message of support.
